BioHazard

BioHazard was a Heavyweight robot built by Carlo Bertocchini that competed in ComBots Cup I. It was a Silver, six-wheeled, low slung robot with skirts that provided an extremely low ground clearance, it was armed with a lifting arm. BioHazard is notable for being the most successful BattleBots competitor of all time and having one of the best Heavyweight win to loss records of all robots across all competitions, along with Sewer Snake, Original Sin, and Robot Wars competitor Razer. Despite all this pedigree, by 2005 BioHazard was extremely outdated, and its armor which was the best that could be gotten in the late 90's and early 2000's was thin by comparison. As a result BioHazard did not do nearly as well in Robogames as it did in BattleBots, going 1-2.

Robot History

ComBots Cup I

BioHazard's first opponent was supposed to be Jawbreaker. However, Jawbreaker was completely destroyed by Eugene in an earlier match, so it couldn't compete.

BioHazard won by forfeit where it was up against the deadly full-body spinner of Megabyte. BioHazard charged straight at Megabyte before it got up to full-speed. Megabyte immediately ripped off one of BioHazard's front skirts. BioHazard managed to get Megabyte's spinner stopped and pinned against the wall and almost flipped Megabyte over. Megabyte got away and spun up again, this time at full-speed. BioHazard charged fearlessly charged at Megabyte again and Megabyte ripped off BioHazard's other front skirt. Megabyte was sent flying across the arena and hit the wall. Megabyte's spinner was stopped again as BioHazard rushed over to Megabyte before it could spin up again. BioHazard was a couple seconds too late as Megabyte was able to spin up just enough to knock BioHazard away a couple times so it could spin up to speed. BioHazard slammed Megabyte into the wall with it's back skirt. Megabyte however never stopped spinning as it spun up to full speed. BioHazard backed into Megabyte at full speed which caused another massive collision, sending both robots flying. BioHazard had a huge gash ripped in it's backside as Megabyte spun up again and ripped BioHazard's back panel completely off, sending it flying. BioHazard was running out of options to attack Megabyte as it was being ripped apart piece by piece. Megabyte came in and landed a huge hit to BioHazard's right-front corner. BioHazard was sent flying across the arena as it's right front side was all messed up from that collision, with it's right skirt bent upwards. Despite the damage, BioHazard charged fearlessly and delivered a nice shot to Megabyte, sending it into the wall, and almost out of the arena. After Megabyte dealt more damage to BioHazard, BioHazard charged into the wall and lost the front of it's lifter. Megabyte delivered a few more hits to BioHazard. This time, sending wheels and shrapnel everywhere. BioHazard finally stopped moving and tapped out. BioHazard was now in the loser's bracket.

Somehow, BioHazard was able to be repaired after Carlo worked almost all night on the bot.

BioHazard's next opponent was Brutality. The first 45 seconds of this fight consisted of Brutality rolling up on to the low skirts of BioHazard, as BioHazard controlled the fight. BioHazard started pushing Brutality around the arena and even attempted to flip Brutality over at one point. Luckily for Brutality, it managed to stay up-wright. Brutality eventually used one side of it's wedge that was scraping the ground to effect. Brutality got under BioHazard and struck it with it's spinning blade, parts of BioHazard flew. After that, Brutality tore more pieces off of BioHazard and BioHazard tapped out. BioHazard was eliminated from the tournament. After the tournament, BioHazard retired from competition for good.
