catKong was a Middleweight robot built by Team Bad Kitty that competed at RoboGames 2017. It was a two-wheeled, black, box-shaped robot with a feline theme, armed with a powerful flywheel. However it was also quite unrelaible, with its weapon breaking down in nearly every fight, and even failing to drive prior to a fight with The Blender causing it to forfeit. Despite all these issues it still managed to place fourth after losing to NIGHTHAWK in the loser's finals. Due to the one robot rule for RoboGames 2018 catKong was waitlisted due to Team Bad Kitty entering Cataclysm into the 220lb division. However it made its return in 2023 where it made it to the Middleweight final. It will also appear at a Proving Grounds fight along with The Mortician to fight DOOM.

MANDiii is sent flying by catKONG

catKong nearly throws MANDiii OOtA.

catKong's first match was against MANDiii, This match started off well for catKong, as it quickly put its speed and agility to good use, getting behind MANDiii and ripping chunks off of it.

catKong then delivered a blow to MANDiii, nearly sending it out of the arena. catKong immediately gave chase, delivering another hit that flipped MANDiii. This hit also caused the flywheel of catKong to cease, and catKong shoved MANDiii around the arena until time ran out. Unsurprisingly the judges gave the decision to catKong which advanced to the Round of 24 where it faced The Blender.

Unfortunately for catKong it had taken far more damage in its fight against MANDiii than Team Bad Kitty had anticipated and when the team put catKong in the arena to fight Blender, only the weapon would turn on, but the drive was not working. This caused Team Bad Kitty to forfeit the match to UT Dallas Combat Robots.

"We were getting together from our last fight, and well we were rushed in, we were actually in the grinding area when they called us in and said you're up in a fight. Like uh oh, then we put it in, turned it on, and the weapon worked, the drive did not but the last match the drive worked, but the weapon did not. Thus is the way of the robots "
— Brandon Antillon perplexed as to why his robot wasn't working during the post-fight interview with Dr. Kiki

This put it into the losers' bracket where it faced the beautifully machined, but highly unstable bar spinner T-800. This match started with catKong spinning up to full speed before charging at T-800. However it missed, and promptly slammed into the wall, this mistake allowed T-800 to get up to full speed.

This would not matter as catKong then charged T-800, causing it to pull a Mauler Dance. T-800 went flying as a result of this, and flipped onto its back, losing its spinning bar in the process. Unable to self-right without its spinning bar, T-800 tapped out giving catKong the win by KO.

"And the first hit sends T-800 onto its head, and there goes the spinning bar"
Scott Robinson on T-800's self-destruction.

This win meant that catKong moved on to the Round of 16 where it faced Sliver King.
