Full Smash

Full Smash as it appeared for RoboGames 2006, and 2007.

Full Smash was a Heavyweight robot built by Shaped Reality that competed at RoboGames 2006, and 2007. It was a silver, and red box-shaped robot with wedge skirts on all sides, and a horizontal flywheel on the front. Full Smash performed poorly in competition, winning only one out of its five fights, and retiring after RoboGames 2007. Full Smash also attempted to enter ROBOLympics 2004, RoboGames 2005, and the first ComBots Cup. However, it failed to show up.

The team that built Full Smash also built Fast Forward for BattleBots, which did just as poorly.[1]

Brutality vs Full Smash

Brutality tears into the side of Full Smash

Full Smash's first went up against Brutality. The lights turned green, Brutality spun its weapon up to full-speed, and Full Smash's weapon didn't spin up at all.. Full Smash spent the first 15 seconds of this fight circling around Brutality, trying to get an angle to attack with its wedge. However, this didn't work out for Full Smash as Brutality managed to get to the side of Full Smash, ripping into the left side wedge-skirt and sending Full Smash's left front wedge-skirt flying. Brutality went in again and sliced into Full Smash's back wedge-skirt, sending Full Smash into the wall and bending Full Smash's left side-skirt upward. Brutality hit the back of Full Smash again. This time, peeling the left side of the back wedge-skirt up. Full Smash could only move in circles after that as it finally spun its flywheel up to speed. Both bots collided weapon on weapon, before Brutality ripped into Full Smash's left side wedge-skirt again. The skirt was now bent up all the way to a 90-degree position. Full Smash wasn't moving at all after that as Brutality landed one more hit, sending pieces flying. Full Smash tapped out, and Brutality won.

Devil's Plunger vs Full Smash

Full Smash hits a wheel of Devil's Plunger

Full Smash was now in the loser's bracket and was up against Devil's Plunger. Devil's Plunger only had 3 wheels for this fight because one of its wheels was damaged in an earlier fight. The first minute and a half of this fight consisted of Full Smash getting pushed all around the arena by Devil's Plunger and Full Smash's spinning disk being ineffective against Devil's Plunger's wedge. Eventually, about a minute a half into the fight, Full Smash landed a good shot on one of Devil's Plunger's wheels. That hit did some damage because Devil's Plunger was wobbling on its wheel for the rest of this fight. Despite this, Devil's Plunger continued to push Full Smash around the arena. After Full Smash was shoved around by Devil's Plunger some more, Full Smash hit Devil's Plunger's wedge, and lost its weapon chain. Devil's Plunger got all the way under Full Smash and pinned it against the arena wall. Full Smash escaped, and time ran out. The judges ruled this fight in favor of Devil's Plunger, and Full Smash was eliminated.

Full Smash vs Sir Loin

Sir Loin tears the back wedge off of Full Smash

Full Smash's first opponent in this event was Sir Loin. Full Smash decided to lead with their rear wedge, looking to absorb some of the punishment from Sir Loin's eggbeater drumspinner. This, however, was a big mistake, as Sir Loin's eggbeater drumspinner sent Full Smash in the air, bending up Full Smash's rear wedge a little. Sir Loin hit Full Smash's right side wedge-skirt and then tore off Full Smash's entire back wedge. Full Smash immediately tapped out, and Sir Loin was the winner.

Full Smash was now in the loser's bracket against Original Sin II.

Full Smash spun up its flywheel looking to attack Original Sin II who was already having trouble driving. Both bots spent about 20 seconds driving around, not making any contact until Full Smash tore a chunk off the side of Original Sin II. Full Smash charged at Original Sin II with its disk and rolled right up Original Sin II's low wedge. Full Smash slid off Original Sin II and gave Original Sin II's wedge a shot with its flywheel. Full Smash continued to drive circles around Original Sin II, who was still not moving very well. Full Smash hit the side of Original Sin II's wedge before it drove up Original Sin II's wedge again. Original Sin II drove Full Smash around the arena before Full Smash escaped again. Original Sin II got underneath the backside of Full Smash and drove Full Smash weapon-first into the arena wall. Original Sin II got underneath Full Smash again and started pushing Full Smash around, as Full Smash attacked with its flywheel. Full Smash spent some more time circling around Original Sin II, before driving up Original Sin II's wedge again. Original Sin II drove Full Smash into the arena wall once again. After that, Full Smash got in some hits with its flywheel before Original Sin II got under it, and drove Full Smash into the wall yet again. Full Smash got itself stuck on top of Original Sin II momentarily but eventually escaped. There were just a few seconds left in the fight, and Full Smash lost its weapon chain. Luckily for Full Smash, the fight was over. The judges ruled in favor of Full Smash, giving Full Smash its first win ever in RoboGames.

This win put Full Smash against Sewer Snake.

Full Smash drove to the center of the arena and Sewer Snake got underneath the side of it, flipped it against the arena wall, and sent Full Smash oota in only 10 seconds. There was nothing Full Smash could do, and Sewer Snake was the winner, eliminating Full Smash from the tournament.
