King Crab was full-body lifter with a clamping arm. The weapon design involves an array of forks on the front of the bot, a clamping arm to hold the opponent, and a leg below the bot which lowers to lift its entire entire front end off the ground, remeniscent of Polar Vortex's lifting mechanism. The robot is a live event version of, and successor to, BattleBots competitor Defender.

King Crab first faced Banana Runt. Both machines were aggressive, though Banana Runt achieved multiple lifts and even a suplex across the first half of the fight. The two robots continued to jab and tussle. However, King Crab was unable to reach far enough beyond Banana Runt's forks to lift it effectively, and the yellow machine was able to parry away the attacks. The fight ended with the two robots locked together, King Crab holding Banana Runt in the corner of the arena and tapping it with the clamp arm. Despite this final show of control, King Crab lost the fight by judges' decision.
King Crab moved into the loser's bracket, where it faced Puck. The Vasquez machine quickly got a hold of its opponent, slotting its forks into gaps in Puck's bottom plate and slamming it into the opposite arena wall. King Crab again lifted Puck and slotted into its undercarriage; a few sparks appeared as King Crab's rear made contact with the floor, appearing like something was shorting, before it became clear the two machines were stuck together. Once the fight had resumed, King Crab continued to lift Puck and the two became wedged for a second time. As the starting buzzer sounded a third time, King Crab focused on the Puck's minibot, giving the main machine an opportunity to finally wedge under its opponent and pin it against the wall. The machines seperated and King Crab was again able to lift Puck, jamming into it and parading it around the arena as the clock ticked down. King Crab was awarded the win by judges' decision.
King Crab advanced to fight Terrortops. Terrortops first flicked King Crab up with the lifter, landing a glancing blow on its side, but King Crab was able to get underneath them and pin them into the wall. In an attempt to position better for a lift, King Crab then ran into Terrortops' spinner and had to back off. The latter gave chase, finding King Crab's side and delivering a big shot that saw it tumbling with one of its forks jammed upwards. Before it could settle, King Crab was under pressure again as Terrortops reached its other side with the spinner, at which point the King Crab team hit the tap out button.
