Mondo Bizarro was a robot that competed in the 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2023 Robogames events. It was a highly modified Weta Kit armed with a powerful Hybrid Eggbeater/Drum it did well reaching the round of 16 in its debut event, and never failing to win at least one match in all its appearances. Its best performance to date was at the 2023 Robogames where it managed to win the bronze medal in the beetleweight division.

Mondo Bizarro vs Orthos Mondo Bizarros first fight was against Orthos. As the fight started both robots spun up their weapons, Mondo Bizarro's first hit flipped Orthos, Mondo Bizarro then flipped Orthos again, and took them to the wall. After this Mondo Bizarro sent Orthos flying again, ultimately landing upside down. Orthos then used its dual spinning discs to self right, Mondo Bizarro then lined up a shot, and sent Orthos flying halfway to the roof of the arena. This broke half of Orthos's drive-train, prompting Orthos to Tap Out. |
Mondo Bizarro vs Splatter This win put Mondo Bizarro against Team Fast Electric Robots's Splatter. This fight started with Mondo Bizarro spinning up, and flipping Splatter with their spinning drum. However Splatter quickly self righted, cornered Mondo Bizarro, and brought its saw down on their opponent. This continued for another 30 seconds until time out was called to separate the robots. Once the fight resumed Splatter again sawed into Mondo Bizarro, however while Splatter was sawing into them Mondo Bizarro managed to take a wheel off of Splatter. After another attack by Splatter the bots became stuck together a second time, and they had to be seperated again, and again once fighting resumed Splatter kept sawing into Mondo Bizarro until the end of the match which was unsurprisingly ruled in favor of Splatter. |
Mondo Bizarro vs Sparky The loss to Splatter whilst causing considerable damage to Mondo Bizarro also put them in the losers bracket where they faced vertical spinner Sparky. This fight was over very quickly, as Mondo Bizarro quickly rushed in and sent Sparky flying. After Sparky righted itself Mondo Bizarro flipped them again, righting itself a lot quicker than before this, however did not make any difference for Sparky as on the third flip Mondo Bizarro got Sparky up on their rear end for a win by knockout. |
Mondo Bizarro vs Dr Horrible Next up for Mondo Bizarro was fellow drum spinner Dr Horrible. This fight started with both bots positioning, Mondo Bizarro got in the first shot, sending Dr Horrible skidding away. Mondo Bizarro then followed up the attack by popping Dr Horrible into the air. Unfortunately for Mondo Bizarro their drum had stopped working at this point which allowed Dr Horrible to first pop them into the air, then flip them with their drum. However that hit caused Mondo Bizarro's drum to come back to life, and after jockeying for position again, Mondo Bizarro first flipped Dr Horrible, then spun them out of the arena. |
Mondo Bizarro vs Medow This win put them against D2 kit Medow. Mondo Bizarro started strong, hitting it with the drum and lifting it up several times but Medow retaliated by slamming it into the arena wall and flipping it over. Mondo Bizarro landed a couple more hits but Medow continued to get under Mondo Bizarro and slam it in the arena walls several times. Mondo Bizarro's drum had trouble biting into Medow but it managed to tear pieces off of its wheels until time ran out. Mondo Bizarro lost the judges decision. |
3lb Rumble Mondo Bizarro wasn't done however as it fought in the 3lb rumble rumble at the end of the event, which it managed to win. |
RoboGames 2016[] |
Mondo Bizarro vs Aries Mondo Bizarro returned the following year and fought Aries in the first round. At the start, both robots collided and Mondo Bizarro flipped Aries onto its back. Mondo Bizarro pushed Aries into the arena wall and hit it several times with the drum, eventually flipping it back onto its wheels. Aries' blade was not working so Mondo Bizarro continued to land hits on Aries, crippling its drive and eventually throwing it onto its back where it could not self-right, giving Mondo Bizarro the victory by knockout. |
Mondo Bizarro vs Medow In its second match, Mondo Bizarro once again fought D2 Medow. Mondo Bizarro now had an aluminum wedge attached to the front to get under Medow but this was no help as Medow simply drove straight under Mondo Bizaro's wedge and slammed it around. In one of the slams, the small wedge dislodged from Mondo Bizarro's front and was thrown off by its drum. Mondo Bizarro landed several hits on Medow's wedge, causing sparks to fly. One hit sent Medow up onto the arena wall and almost out. Medow then slammed into Mondo Bizarro again and flipped it over while Mondo Bizarro did the same. Despite being inverted, Medow still managed to shove Mondo Bizarro around as Mondo Bizarro's drum continued to tear up Medow's wedge as time ran out. Once again, Medow won the judges' decision and as it was single elimination, it meant that Mondo Bizarro was out of the tournament. |
Mondo Bizarro vs Quicksand (Grudge Match) Mondo Bizarro also participated in two grudge matches. The first was a grudge match against Quicksand. Quicksand started off tentatively pushing it around, having the lower clearance working in its favor. However, a hit from Mondo Bizarro's drum caused its wedge to lock in the "up" position. Mondo Bizarro struck the exposed wedge-hinge and flung Quicksand out of the arena. |
Mondo Bizarro and Quicksand vs Medow and Robot Fighter (Tag Team) The next grudge match was a tag team battle against Medow and Robot Fighter. For this match Mondo Bizarro partnered with Quicksand. Unfortunately for Mondo Bizarro, Quicksand's speed controller was improperly calibrated and the robot could only move intermittently. However in a stroke of luck, one of the D2 kits drove out of the arena and Mondo pushed out the other. Next, in true tag team match fashion Mondo Bizarro turned on its teammate. Mondo Bizarro started tossing Quicksand around with its drum spinner before pushing it out of the arena and proceeded to take a bite out of its desert decoration which had fallen off in one of the attacks. Shortly after this, one of the D2 kits managed to boost the other back into the arena and push out Mondo Bizarro, by then however Mondo Bizarro and Quicksand had already emerged victorious. |

Mondo Bizarro vs REPLICA Mondo Bizarro's first match was against fellow eggbeater, REPLICA. At the start of the match it looked like REPLICA had the advantage, getting a small hit on the RoboGames veteran, but Mondo Bizarro responded with a larger hit and REPLICA was sent tumbling into the corner landing on its side. REPLICA quickly recovered however and delivered four consecutive pops to Mondo Bizarro flipping it twice, after a bit of jockeying for position by both robots Mondo Bizarro launched REPLICA against the side wall causing the plexiglass to visibly shake. Next, as REPLICA attempted to self right by gyroing Mondo Bizarro took advantage and delivered another hit with REPLICA once again responding by sending Mondo Bizarro flying. Mondo Bizarro once again quickly recovered and pinned REPLICA in the corner of the arena, upon Mondo Bizarro backing off from said pin REPLICA was unable to move and the team called for an unstick causing the match to be paused to free it off the wall. When the match resumed one of REPLICA's drive sides were clearly jammed allowing Mondo Bizarro to get some free hits in. This however had the side effect of, fixing whatever issue was plaguing REPLICA allowing them to eventually send Mondo Bizarro flying once more after a weapon on weapon exchange. Unfortunately for REPLICA this hit also flipped themselves and allowed Mondo Bizarro to come in and land a flurry of large hits including one ceiling shot to REPLICA. After stabilizing from that exchange, REPLICA delivered multiple hits to Mondo Bizarro as the clock ran down on the match. The fight would ultimately go to Mondo Bizarro in what was likely a very close judges decision. |
Mondo Bizarro vs Wormhole Mondo Bizarro's second match was against horizontal disc spinner Wormhole. Mondo Bizarro moved towards Wormhole and struck their disc, breaking their weapon belts in the process. It delivered a series of hits but seemed to have problems with its right hand drive motor. Regardless, it continued to pressure Wormhole and delivered a hit that sent Wormhole into the air. After ramming Wormhole into the walls several times, Mondo Bizarro landed a hit that sent Wormhole spinning in the air. Wormhole landed on the floor and appeared to get stuck on its weapon only for Mondo Bizarro to free it. Mondo Bizarro landed several more hits on Wormhole until time ran out. Mondo Bizarro won the judges' decision. |
Mondo Bizarro vs Lynx Both machines spun up their weapons and Mondo Bizarro struck the front of Lynx, flipping it over. Lynx managed to self-right with its weapon but Mondo Bizarro flipped it over again, pressuring it against the arena wall. Lynx managed to escape and landed a hit that flipped Mondo Bizarro over. Mondo Bizarro tried to attack but Lynx hit Mondo Bizarro's drum and bent the tooth, causing it to hit the arena floor. Lynx struck Mondo Bizarro several more times until it was clear they could not drive forward. Mondo Bizarro was forced to tap out, sending it to the loser's bracket. |
Mondo Bizarro vs REPLICA Now in the loser's bracket, Mondo Bizarro fought Replica again. It started off aggressively, striking Replica several times and flipping it around the arena. However, in the second half of the match, Mondo Bizarro's drum became stuck, leaving it weaponless. Replica managed to land several hits on the front and even damaged the wheel guard, but Mondo Bizarro was able to pin Replica against the arena wall. With time running out, Mondo Bizarro pushed Replica into the wall and flipped it onto its side. Mondo Bizarro won on another very close judges' decision. |
Mondo Bizarro vs KillCake Mondo Bizarro's fifth match was against the full-bodied spinner KillCake from Team Tanto. Both robots spun up and hit each other, the impact ripping off one of Mondo Bizarro's wedglets and breaking a drive motor. Mondo Bizarro was able to crabwalk away from KillCake who appeared to be having power issues. The two machines limped back and forth until it was clear KillCake had become immobilized. Mondo Bizarro was given the win by knockout. |
Mondo Bizarro vs The Mean Bean In the loser's bracket final, Mondo Bizarro faced another drum spinner called The Mean Bean. Both machines landed hits, flipping each other over. However, Mondo Bizarro lost drive in one of its motors, allowing Mean Bean to land several hits, causing damage to its wheel guard. Another big hit flipped Mondo Bizarro over and sheared off the lid, causing the battery to fall out. Mondo Bizarro tapped out, giving Mean Bean the win. Despite the loss, Mondo Bizarro managed to place third, awarding them the bronze medal. |
