Sliver King

Sliver King is a Middleweight robot built by M&M Robotics of Kirkland, Washington that competed at RoboGames 2017. It was a two-wheeled, silver, invertible, wedge-shaped robot with no active weapons.

Sliver King performed poorly in competition becoming the first robot to fall victim to the controversial "wall rule", and ultimately only managing to win one fight.

Robot History[]

RoboGames 2017[]

Sliver King's first match was against Team Toad's Lionheart. This match was dominated by Sliver King until Sliver King rammed Lionheart into the wall, and both bots got stuck. In a controversial move, the refs, and judges ruled that Sliver King had pinned Lionheart, and gave the win to Lionheart.

This meant that Sliver King was now in the loser's bracket where it faced Deathrow. This match started with Deathrow getting constantly hung up on inconsistancies in the floor panels. Sliver King took adavantage of this, easily getting under Deathrow, and shoving it around gently.

"Sliver King pushing Deathrow around, yeah Sliver King definitely trying to avoid getting stuck on the arena again."
Dave Calkins commentating on Sliver Kings cautious attack method.

Sliver King then slammed Deathrow into the walls twice very gently to avoid getting stuck once more. Sliver King then got under Deathrow again but Deathrow's lifter hit a floor seam allowing it to escape. Sliver King then got back under it, and took it to the wall once again. Deathrow then got under Sliver King in the final 30 seconds of the fight, but Sliver King escaped, and took it to the wall a final time as the clock ran down.

Unsurprisingly Sliver King won the resulting judges decision, and advanced to the round of 8 where it faced catKong.
