Speed Bump XL as it appeared for RoboGames 2006.
Speed Bump XL was a Middleweight robot built by Team X-Bots that competed in ROBOLympics 2004, and RoboGames 2006, as well as the first ComBots Cup. It was a blue (originally silver) robot with a curved body that was armed with a unique sideways-facing pneumatic lifting arm. Speed Bump XL performed poorly in battle, losing six out of its nine fights, despite this Speed Bump XL did manage to place third in the first ComBots Cup. Speed Bump XL also competed in BattleBots seasons 4.0, and 5.0, as well as the 2004 NPC Charity Open, and Robot Wars: Extreme Warriors as Buzz where it did just as poorly.

After recieving a bye in the first round Speed Bump XL's first opponent was Locust. It lost this fight, most likely by KO, and was sent to the loser's bracket where it faced Who's Your Daddy. It lost this fight as well, and was eliminated from the competition.
