Touro Classic

Touro Classic (Originally Touro), is a Middleweight robot built by Team RioBotz that has competed at RoboGames and ComBots events since 2006. It is an invertable, silver, two-wheeled, circular-shaped robot armed with a powerful spinning drum.

Touro Classic was originally known as Touro up until RoboGames 2015, when a new version of the robot took that name, and this version was rebadged as Touro Classic. However Touro Classic still continues to compete.

Touro Classic rips the drum off of Unlicensed Disintegration.

After recieving a bye in the first round, Touro Classic's first match was against Unlicensed Disintegration. This match started with Touro Classic charging at Unlicensed Disintegration which was moving in circles, and ripping a chunk of armor off it. Touro Classic then slammed Unlicensed Disintegration again, this time sending it flying, ripping the drum off, and peeling up the side armor.

Touro Classic then tore a chunk off of the side armor, before ripping the top armor off of Unlicensed Disintegration. Touro Classic then continued the attack, however before any more damage could be done, Unlicensed Disintegration tapped out.

"Well the GoPro is off, and that'll do it, your winner. Tourrooo Classic!"

Touro Classic launches and overturns General.

This sent Touro Classic into the Semi-Finals where it faced longtime rivals, General. Touro Classic attempted to circle General but was caught by the side and flung into the corner. General was putting the pressure on the drum spinner before gaining distance. Team Riobotz switched to going head-to-head but was shot up by General’s drisk. They could not retaliate as General went in more hits, getting to the sides. One of the hits threw Touro Classic from the center to the railing. Touro Classic tried to self-right with its gyro after being inverted but General scored a huge hit against the drum spinner. Touro Classic managed to escape a pin attempt as the other got stuck by the railing momentarily. Both spinners went for direct frontal attacks with Touro Classic still being on the losing end. However, Touro Classic managed to get to the sides of the General soon after and overturn it, which the latter capitalised with two more strikes. From then on, both teams drove patiently with General’s weapon being down. All Touro Classic could do was graze the front before it was pinned at the corner at the end of the match. It went to a 20-13 Judges’ Decision, where Touro Classic lost.

Touro Classic meets the debuting NIGHTHAWK in the Losers Quarterfinals. Touro Classic was quickly plowed through by NIGHTHAWK in the opening seconds before being taken control of. Touro Classic was trying to gain distance and successfully redirected NIGHTHAWK with its drum. However, Riobotz’ robot was shoved around the arena again with its opponent immediately catching up to it whenever there was distance between them. NIGHTHAWK proceeded to slam Touro Classic against the railings until Touro escaped and struck it away at a side wedgelet. Touro could not take advantage and was back to being dragged around the arena. After a while, it managed to get to the sides of NIGHTHAWK but only scuffed it. NIGHTHAWK regained and maintained control in the remaining seconds. The judges turned in a 19-14 decision in favour of NIGHTHAWK, eliminating one of Riobotz’ middleweight robots from the competition.
