VD6

VD6 was a heavyweight robot that competed in Robogames 2009. It was a wedge shaped robot armed with a vertical disc spinner with kevlar armor.

It didn’t do well in the competition, going 0-2.

However, VD6 competed at the BattleBots 2009 Pro Championship as VD6.0, where it got third place.

Robogames 2009[]

VD6's first and only match was against Team Hardcore Robotics's Last Rites. VD6 added extra armor to the front of the robot to hopefully absorb some of the punishment from Last Rites's spinning bar. VD6 charged full-speed at Last Rites before the fight even began, trying to stop the blade early and pin it against the wall. That plan failed miserable as Last Rites tore a chunk of the extra front armor off of VD6. VD6's weapon started to spin up and VD6 charged at Last Rites again. This time however, Last Rites's blade was at full-speed and the extra front armor of VD6 went flying everywhere, VD6's weapon was also disabled in that exchange. Last Rites hit the front of VD6, tearing chunks of Kevlar off of VD6. VD6 stopped moving and Last Rites got in a couple more shots on VD6. This time, shredding a tire of VD6 apart and sending lots of kevlar flying all over the place. VD6 tapped out and Last Rites was the winner.

VD6 was now in the loser's bracket where it was supposed to face Counter Revolution. However, due to being completely destroyed by Last Rites, VD6 forfeited the match as it could not be repaired. Counter Revolution won by forfeit and VD6 was eliminated. VD6 would never go on to compete in Robogames ever again after this.
