Wedge of Doom was a dominant Lightweight built by Team Hazard that competed from ROBOLympics 2004 to RoboGames 2005. It was a Gray, six wheeled wedge robot armed with a lifting arm. Wedge of Doom did exceedingly well in the competition , winning the Silver Medal on its debut, and the Gold Medal on its last appearance, and only losing one battle in its RoboGames career. Wedge of Doom ultimately retired after RoboGames 2005 ending an abnormally long career that spanned all the way back to the early days of the sport in 1996.

Wedge of Doom first debuted at Robot Wars 1996 as a Featherweight, where it won the championship that year, and the following year. Four years later it was remade into a Lightweight, and it competed at BattleBots Seasons 3.0 to 5.0 it did well there too, reaching the semifinals in Season 3.0, the quarterfinals in Season 4.0, and the finals in Season 5.0.
Like many notable competitors on that show Wedge of Doom competed at Steel Conflict after BattleBots ended where it became Lightweight champion of both Steel Conflict 2, and the Triangle Series Nationals. It was only after this that Wedge of Doom entered the first two RoboGames events before ending its career with the best historical ranking of any Lightweight in the history of the sport.
Trivia[]
- Only five robots have ever beaten Wedge of Doom and those are: Gamma Raptor, Ziggo, Dr. Inferno Jr., Mini Madd, and Hexy Jr. Of those five only one of them (Hexy Jr.) accomplished this at RoboGames.
- With its 43-5 Win/Loss record Wedge of Doom has the best historical record of any Lightweight.
